Marketing is how small businesses promote their services and products. Marketing encompasses advertising, sales, online presence, retention, and more. A marketing plan is about the whole of the parts - there is not a magic bullet. Some tactics are focused on branding or awareness and others for lead generation.

The term "Marketing" includes online advertising, social media, networking, sales, influencers, SEO, mailers, referrals, retention, vlogs, promotions, blogs, press releases, cold-calling, and branding. Marketing is anything used to promote and sell products or services. Marketing varies by industry and company, but every company needs a plan to reach and sell their products/services to the target customer(s).
